Best Hardware: All OBD2 Protocol, Multi OS
Why should buy Veepeak Mini Wifi OBD2 Adapter?
- Compatibility: You need to ensure that an OBD2 scanner is compatible with your vehicle. The OBD2 protocol uses five (5) known protocols, with the latest CAN (Controller Area Network) or CAN-BUS. This protocol is often used by vehicles manufactured from 2008 onwards, but it is not rare to find newer cars using a combination of two protocols. This is why it is imperative to choose an OBD2 scanner that is compatible with all known OBD2 protocols.
- Price: Let’s face it. One of the main reasons for purchasing your own OBD2 scanner is to save on diagnostic and repair costs, right? So, it is better to choose something that you can actually buy. Some OBDII scanning tools can cost thousands of dollars, but most of us do not need a mechanical level tool … For most of us, twenty dollars can buy a scanner that does everything.
Veepeak Mini Wifi OBD2 Adapter Pros and Cons

Perhaps the favorite feature of Veepeak is the price. With $ 20, you can get a tool that can save you hundreds! I mean, it’s cheaper than a case of beer!. Cons of Veepeak Mini Wifi OBD2 Adapter
When connected Vince’s iPhone 5 using WiFi, it was disconnected from the Internet! This is a bit frustrating, but not a big deal. Just a head up in case you want to browse through Facebook or look at cats photos (what?) While fixing your car. Also, we heard of a man shortening his device and removing his battery. So if you plan to plug it into your car 24/7, be sure to buy an adapter with a switch off/on. Also, keep in mind, this is a basic OBD2 code reader. So you probably will not get features like ABS / SRS, live data, and you may have to purchase an application $ 5-10 dollars to unlock all the features.
The OBD2 bar code scanner is usually plugged into the vehicle/truck OBD2 port, and then displays the DTC and engine data on the screen of the OBDII tool. These scanners work well if you do not need to drive to get Check Engine Light to display or do not want to mess with synchronizing your phone with a wireless OBD2 apdater.
Wireless OBD2 scanners disconnect wires. All you have to do is plug the “adapter” (like Veepeak) into the obd2 port of the car, and then sync it with your phone. Then your phone can instantly show you what’s going on with your car! Sounds difficult? Do not worry, pairing your device with the OBDII tool is quick and painless .. even for us technically challenged folks.
But as far as we’re concerned, this device supports all five OBD-II protocols, namely:
- J1850 PWM
- J1850 VPW
- ISO 9141-2
- KWP2000; and
- CAN or CAN-BUS.
